As your 1st Vice President, I will be laser focused on working with you, our executive team, Leader, and Caucus in building Canada’s most dynamic and modern political party. To achieve this, my priorities and key initiatives will be to:

 

• Listen and Support our Riding Associations: Our riding associations are the backbone of our party. They must always be supported. Never ignored. They are on the frontlines of bringing our Party’s message to the people in their communities. We need to support them with the right information, organizational support, and training to help them do this critical job. I will work with my executive teammates to:

  1. Organize semi-annual regional presidents’ councils to brief presidents on the government’s agenda, consult on the plans of the Party executive, share and discuss important issues in the ridings and region, and to identify priorities for riding training and communications.

  2. Establish an Ontario PC Activist Academy to provide training and education programming for riding associations and campaign teams on everything from how to build an effective board of directors to digitizing local activism.

 

• Engage our Members: I believe that we must always be asking ourselves “what is the value of membership in the Ontario PC Party?” If we cannot answer this question, we are off-track in building a dynamic and modern party. I believe we lost sight of this over the last decade. As an executive team, we need to be focused on creating value for our members, through information, engagement with our caucus, training, and opportunities to bring party members together to share experiences. I will work with my executive teammates to:

1. ​Protect Party members’ personal information by conducting, and acting on the recommendations of, a detailed security and privacy risk assessment of the party’s information technology and membership databases.

2. Revitalize the Municipal Candidates School to train party members who are either: (i) seeking municipal office; or (ii) running a municipal campaign.

3. Deliver modern digital engagement, like the CPC members App, to ensure our members are always in touch with our Party.

 

• Invest in our Youth Activists: I was raised in the youth wing of our Party. I was proud to be President of our Ontario PC Campus Association. During that time, we set up a fund to support young Tories on campuses across this province. The future of our party…our future in winning elections…is dependent on our ability to recruit, retain, train, and promote an ever-growing activist base. I will work with our youth organizations and activists to grow our ranks and secure our Party’s future. I will work with my executive teammates, OPCCA, and OPCYA to:

1. ​Increase Party funding support for OPCYA and OPCCA for high school and post-secondary campus activism.

2. Develop youth specific training programs and modules as part of the Ontario PC Activist Academy and the Municipal Candidates Training School.

3. Ensure that Ontario PC youth members participate in the Policy Advisory Committee process.

 

• Contribute to a High Functioning and Professional Executive Team: Our executive is our board of directors. It needs to serve the interests of our ridings and our members. I pride myself on being a grown up. My commitment is to be a grown up and restore respect for the ridings and members in our Party’s executive. as 1st VP, I will:

1. ​Post semi-annual accountability report to the membership on my priorities, activities, and accomplishments.
